Candidates in our teacher training program complete a thorough, research-based curriculum which is highly engaging. The innovative, interactive coursework includes video footage from real classrooms with advice from master teachers.

243 clock hours of classroom readiness training is offered in our self-paced, online format, so that you can train to be a teacher while keeping your current job. Candidates also complete 45 clock hours of state approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) training for the SEI Endorsement.

We pride ourselves on the authentic training experience we provide to our candidates. Our candidates complete field based experience prior to entering the classroom on their own, providing a real-world foundation for their training.

During the first year of teaching, our teacher candidates complete case studies and field work in classroom management, among other areas of concentration, such as literacy and assessment.

Start Teaching

During this first year, you will lead your own classroom as a full time teacher. Your Program Supervisor and on-campus mentor will provide support, answer questions.

Begin your career as a teacher with full pay and full benefits!

Once you are in the classroom you will need to take and pass the appropriate Subject Knowledge and Professional Knowledge Examinations or qualify for a waiver of exam requirements. You will also take and pass the Arizona and U.S. Constitution Examination or meet college coursework exemptions. Click here to learn more about testing requirements.

Your Program Supervisor is a veteran educator who is assigned to you personally when you begin teaching in the classroom as a teacher of record. They will visit and observe your classroom three times throughout the year. Your Program Supervisor works closely with you via phone and email to offer continuous guidance and support.

Fully Certified

Upon successful completion of the program requirements and one full academic year of teaching, you will receive your Standard Professional Teaching Certificate and become fully certified to teach in the state of Arizona!
